Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Ann McFerran and on, Saturday, 25th November 2023, I will be walking from Connah’s Quay to The Countess of Chester Hospital Country Park in Memory of our Special son – SAC Peter McFerran – 26/11/1982-19/07/2007.
I and some of his friends and family will walk from The Ski Boat Club, Dock Road, Connah’s Quay CH5 4DS to The Countess of Chester Country Park, CH2 1UL we will enter the park from Countess Way. Chester (opposite The Little Owl Pub).
Peter was born on 26th November 1982 and given just a few days to live. He survived with the help of the specialist team in Special Care and became a fine young man and, on 6th June, 2004, joined the RAF completing his initial training and becoming a member of the RAF Regiment and was a proud member of 1 Squadron RAF Regiment. On Peter’s 2nd tour of Iraq in 2007 Peter, along with 2 colleagues, made the ultimate sacrifice. It’s a day our family will never forget and we will never forget Peter which is why, on the closest Saturday to his birthday, I walk the route to Chester, where he was born, at the same time raising much needed funds for the Unit which gave him his life.
I am looking for sponsors as well as walkers to complete the 8 mile walk (a linear walk so anyone walking must make arrangements to return home). If you can help in any way our family (and The Countess of Chester Hospital) will be very grateful.
Thank you Ann & Bob McFerran
