Story

Our wonderful Pipe Organ is in urgent need of repair !

We need to raise £240,000.00 to restore this wonderful instrument to its original glory.

Built in 1906 by William Hill & Son of London. It is now on the National Pipe Organ Register with a "Historic Organ Certificate awarded in 2016 - Grade II* and is considered a significant surviving example of this firm's later work.

The organ has 1092 pipes within it's original casing and you can read the full history and newspaper articles of the time on our dedicated Restoration Website - Stellamarisproject.co.uk

You can either donate what you can or "Dedicate a Pipe in memory of a loved one". We are looking for dedication amounts of £200.00 per pipe and for this you will receive a certificate of dedication and and entry into the "Pipe Organ Restoration Dedication Book". If you do wish to dedicate a Pipe please make your donation here but then email info@Stellamarisproject.co.uk so that we can send you certificate onto you.

Please help us preserve this beautiful instrument for future generations to enjoy. It is part of our ongoing Restoration Project and any donations should be marked with "WSMP- Organ Appeal". Alternatively you can donate via our dedicated website - check out the donations page on

RCN 234331
The RC Diocese of Lancaster seeks to be the evangelizing presence of the Catholic Church in Lancashire, north the River Ribble, and all of Cumbria. The Charity is governed by a Trust Deed dated 31 July 1934 (as subsequently amended by schemes of the Charity Commission) and is registered by the Charity Commission of England and Wales as charity number 234331. The Diocese of Lancaster was created by the Holy See in 1924; the northern area formerly having been within the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle and the southern area having been within the Archdiocese of Liverpool. The Diocese has 87 parishes with regular services are available in 108 churches and chapels and 82 schools throughout the whole of the county of Cumbria and those parts of Lancashire, north of the River Ribble and the west of the Pennines. These communities served by the charity are quite diverse, and include towns/cities in Cumbria such as Barrow, Workington, Carlisle and Whitehaven, the whole of the Lake District. In urban areas, parishes might be just a few square miles in size, whereas in the more rural parts of Cumbria parishes can be 200+ square miles. In Lancashire the coastal resorts of Blackpool and Morecambe fall within our boundaries, as does the city of Preston.
