Story
On the 25th September 2023, I had my first meeting with a new colleague from the hospital bedside of her 4 year old son. Never have I felt such a wave of mixed emotions, nor have I ever been so lost for words! This spurred me into an action I have been considering for some time (I wasn’t joking when I told people I have been growing my hair)…
I can’t (read: have no desire to) run a marathon; my knees shot from the 3 Peaks Challenge many moons ago, and I’ve already jumped out of a plane for fun but, I CAN grow hair! So, on March 23rd I will donate 15 INCHES of hair to this amazing charity.
I’m not doing this lightly! Yes, it’s vain, but my mane has always been a big part of my identity, so I look forward to this change with trepidation!
It costs £550 to make and style a wig and I’d love to reach this target to cover the cost to support my hair donation. The wonderful Oliver James (https://www.oliverjameshair.com) will generously make the cut for free 👏
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions such as Alopecia.
The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.
The Little Princess Trust relies solely on the generosity of its wonderful supporters who help the charity give Hair and Hope to so many children and young people with cancer each year.
