Angus's Ironman fundraiser for Mind

Ironman Kärnten-Klagenfurt 2024 · 16 June 2024
I will be competing in my first Ironman on 16 June this year in the 25th edition of Ironman Kärnten-Klagenfurt, a course that is known as one of the most beautiful in the world. The Ironman event includes an open water swim in the turquoise waters of Lake Wörthersee over a 3.8km course, 180km of cycling including some challenging climbs -1750 metres of vertical climb - and finishing with the day with a marathon of 42,4kms.
This is a massive challenge but one for which I have been training for a year. I hope to complete it in less than 12 hours, with the motivation of the money I will be raising for two charities close to my heart - one in each of my home countries.
Imagine for Margo – Children without Cancer is a charity which fights against childhood cancer by leading advocacy and fundraising to accelerate research in order to better understand and cure childhood cancer. It is a charity I have been supporting for 13 years - Margo was a pupil at the Lycée International - and which has had a huge impact on the research and treatment of childhood cancer worldwide.
