Story
In December 2018 Peter and I were planning on running the Langdale Christmas Pudding 10k. Unfortunately a few days before we lost my dad suddenly and unexpectedly.
Now 5 years on we’ve decided to finally take on the challenge again, in his memory.
My then lovely manager Nick who ran the race that year has warned us the weather can be somewhat inclement! - we know it’s going to be cold, possibly raining, possibly snowing, possibly windy but I know my dad would be proud of us doing it (and probably think we are slightly bonkers!).
My dad Roger was an amazing man, THE best dad ever, funny, generous and kind. And with that in mind we have decided to try to raise some money for a good cause because he’d be proud of that, and have chosen Alzheimer’s Society. Inspired by our friend Jo’s gran and my auntie Jean we’ve already raised some funds selling knitted forget-me-nots, cards and Christmas decorations so we’re hoping to add to that total.
Alzheimer’s Society provides support for Dementia sufferers and their families as well as funding research into a cure for this cruel disease. Any help and support you can offer will be so greatly appreciated
