Story
Andy, Cara and I are running the Santa 5k to raise money for ‘The Rotary Club of Mendip’. If you are able to spare a £ or more towards much needed Hospice care, we would appreciate your support. In return, we promise to dress in Santa suits and run as fast as our legs will allow. Most of you know I hate fancy dress.
They exist to help local communities meet the needs of both individuals and charities with practical assistance and by raising funds for charities like Weston Hospicecare; Space; Childrens’ Hospice South West; and we have adopted a community in Uganda bringing water, education and medical care. During the Pandemic we provided meals for NHS workers. We welcome anyone who wishes to enjoy our friendship; fun at social events and wants to put something back into the community.
Almost everyone in the Rotary club knows of someone who has benefitted from the love and care the hospice provides. Our President 2023-24 Mike Sartain has made it his special ‘Charity of the Year’ and we hope this first ‘Santa and Elf Fun Run’ on 16th December at Winchester Farm will raise useful funds and will lead to ongoing support for the Hospice both at Club and individual level.
