Story

I'm Andy, and I'm taking on the Great North Run in memory of my dad, Jim, who passed away after a heart attack on January 30th, 2024.

My dad and I had a great relationship, his passing was very sudden and came as a huge shock. Kind, dependable, supportive, and a great laugh, he was everything you could want in a Dad. He was the kind of man who'd move mountains if it helped make your day just 1% better, and I miss him terribly.

After a difficult year that I'm still processing, I want to channel all the negative energy into something positive. That's why I'm raising funds for the British Heart Foundation and their groundbreaking work to help others facing what my dad went through.

The British Heart Foundation's vision is a world free from the fear of heart and circulatory diseases. They raise money to research cures and treatments, so they can give people more time with the ones they love. After everything this past year, this cause means the world to me, and any donation—big or small—would be truly appreciated.

Whenever I was being lazy at home, Dad always used to tell me to get up and go for a jog. I guess it's finally time!
