Story
Back in 2019 I was devastated to be diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. We tried various treatments to prevent it worsening but I had complete kidney failure. Dialysis was required to keep me alive until 18 months ago my partner Suzi came to my rescue and donated one of her kidneys to save my life!!
During my treatments and transplant, Kidney Care UK gave me support and counselling during this rather dark time in my life. So now I'm recovering, I'm determined to complete the 60 mile RideLondon event to support Kidney Care UK - helping to raise money to help others and ensure that no one has to face kidney disease alone. To add to the challenge I'm also competing in the London to Brighton Cycle a couple of weeks after RideLondon.
I don't know how I would have got though my kidney journey without the help and support from my partner Suzi, the NHS and Kidney Care UK. Kidney disease is a lifelong condition and my transplant is only a treatment not a cure.
None of our their services would be possible without the generosity of incredible supporters. Please help me raise as much money as possible to help others living with kidney disease.
