We provide specialist nurses to support families affected by dementia

Story

When you talk to people about your experience with dementia, it is hard not to be shocked by just how common it is. My Mum was diagnosed in early 2018, not long after my Dad had passed away. Over the next few years she slowly drifted further and further away until she finally found peace in 2022. This is not an unusual story with other members of my extended family also being touched in similar ways.

Having up close experience of this cruel illness has inspired me to do more. I am joining a number of colleagues from NDBS UK&I to take on the 50KM Thames Path Ultra Challenge on 14th Sep to support the fantastic work that Dementia UK do and to help them continue to be able to provide free life-changing support and advice to those affected by dementia.
