Story
Welcome everyone to Andy Tank Cameron and Melissa Cameron’s fundraising group for Anthony Nolan.
As you will be aware, Andy’s sister Laura passed away in 1998 at the age of 17. Throughout her illness Laura, who Melissa never got to meet, and the family were supported by Anthony Nolan on many fronts with the biggest being a bone marrow transplant.
In an effort to give back to the charity, Andy and Melissa have already raised in excess of £4000 through various running events, most recently running 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours, which Melissa did just before her 17th birthday, whilst working and making cupcakes inbetween too!
It was a no brainer that when Melissa was unsuccessful in the London Marathon 2024 ballot that they enter for a charity place and both were delighted earlier this week when they received phone calls to let them know they have places!
Both have separate fundraising pages as required by the charity (links will be posted in this group) and they need to raise a minimum of £1950 each, however, we are waiting on confirmation if they can raise it all on one page to make it easier!
To help them out, we will be setting up various things to get some cash in, and details will be posted in this group to keep it altogether and easier to find.
Every donation, however large or small, will be greatly appreciated to help them reach their targets. Thank you in advance!
The flights have been booked, the accommodation hunt is on. Roll on April!

Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. We do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. We also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. We won’t stop until we save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings us closer to that day.
