Story
I am taking on the challenge of a lifetime to support Alzheimer's Society. As someone who has never ridden more than 60 miles in a day, I am committing to ride from Land's End to John O'Groats in just nine days as part of Ride Across Britain 2024. I will spend the next 11 months training to prepare for the ride. The ride itself involves riding 970 miles - that's an average of almost 110 miles and 6,600 feet climbing per day. It's a daunting task, but I know that every mile I ride will make a difference in the lives of those affected by dementia.
Having had close family members suffer from Alzheimer's disease, I have seen first hand the devastating impact of dementia and Alzheimer's has on the lives of those living with it and their loved ones, I feel enormously proud to be supporting such a worth while cause.
Alzheimer's Society is working tirelessly to transform the landscape of dementia forever. Until we find a cure, they are creating a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice. By supporting me in this challenge, you can help make that vision a reality.
I am asking for your support in reaching my fundraising goal of £2,400. Your donation will go directly towards funding vital research and support services for those living with dementia and their families. Together, we can create a world without dementia.
