I am taking on the challenge of a lifetime to support Alzheimer's Society. As someone who has never ridden more than 60 miles in a day, I am committing to ride from Land's End to John O'Groats in just nine days as part of Ride Across Britain 2024. I will spend the next 11 months training to prepare for the ride. The ride itself involves riding 970 miles - that's an average of almost 110 miles and 6,600 feet climbing per day. It's a daunting task, but I know that every mile I ride will make a difference in the lives of those affected by dementia.

Having had close family members suffer from Alzheimer's disease, I have seen first hand the devastating impact of dementia and Alzheimer's has on the lives of those living with it and their loved ones, I feel enormously proud to be supporting such a worth while cause.

Alzheimer's Society is working tirelessly to transform the landscape of dementia forever. Until we find a cure, they are creating a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
