Story
Andy Aitken is joining forces with Jon Stockley to raise money for CVM (Christian Vision for Men).
This is Jon's CVM Grand Challenge and the reason behind these grand challenges is to raise £1000 or more for CVM. But it is more than that. Throughout this challenge Jon and the CVM Cymru team will be raising the profile of CVM across Wales and hopefully connecting with many people along the way. Throughout this challenge Jon will be reconnecting with old friends across Wales as well as making men new ones.
But we do need to stress that this is a very big challenge for Jon. Now, in his fifties, Jon has never run a marathon before. In fact, Jon has never been a runner before. So, the next few months will be crucial for him, and there is no guarantee of success.
We are also pleased to announce that Andy Aitken (AC for Rhyl & Towyn) will be supporting Jon by running with him on the day. Andy is a seasoned runner, although this will be his first full marathon. We are glad that this year's Grand Challenge really will be a team effort.
So what, or who are CVM Cymru?
So, just to introduce you to CVM & CVM Cymru. We are a Christian charity that works toward seeing men getting together, supporting each other, challenging each other and at the centre of everything we do is the conviction that following Jesus, not only makes life today much better, but it gives us real hope for the future. The work of CVM Cymru really is all about helping men to become the best version of themselves.
Please do consider supporting Andy and Jon as they run their first marathon ever!!! It will make a massive difference to them over the coming month, and if you are in or near Llanberis why not come out and cheer him along the course on Saturday 26th October.
