Story
For reasons best know only to myself, at the age of 50, I have decided to run a marathon.
I’m not a natural runner and at over 90kg I’m more adept at pushing weights in the gym and doing circuits rather than running 26.2 miles (42.2km) and the furthest I have ever run as part of an organised event is 10km.
My place isn’t a charity place and I have paid for my entry myself, but I would like to raise for charity.
For personal reasons I have chosen 3 charities to benefit from my stupidity.
St Barnabas House looked after my Dad and Step Mum in the final stages of their lives and I will be for ever grateful for their kindness and support.
St Barnabas House is a charity based in Worthing which provides palliative and end of life care to adults with life-limiting illnesses in their hospice and providing hospice at home service. My Dad was fortunate to be one of the first to benefit from St Barnabas Hospice at Home.
