Story
Andrew is competing in 2 marathons this fall to raise funds for the Tango2 Research Foundation. Tango2 is a rare genetic disease. He will compete in the Von Trapp Marathon in Stowe, Vt on October 20th and in the Philly Marathon on Nov. 24th. We are asking your help by sponsoring Andrew in his challenge to compete in both races.
Andrew and I want to help Ryan and his family and the other families affected by Tango2 by raising funds to continue the all important research being done. The research funding has already lead to great improvement in the lives of these children.
At its worst Tango2 can cause metabolic crises and life threatening heart issues. But when a group of families shared their stories as part of a research project, a pattern emerged. Children that were most severely affected or were passing from Tango2 were not taking vitamins. While others like Ryan who never had a crisis, were.
Through additional research, scientists have discovered that B vitamins improve symptoms and are thought to prevent the most life threatening aspects of Tango2. In the four years since this discovery, no diagnosed child has succumb to Tango2.
There is still so much to be discovered and understand about Tango2 and what the future holds for these kids.
Your donation can make a difference!
