Story
12 years ago I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) after an episode that left me with a complete loss of sensation and severely reduced mobility. Eventually I recovered, although not without a permanent impact.
I still consider myself lucky. For many people with MS, these episodes are more common and the impact more damaging and more permanent.
For these people, as well as those with Parkinson’s and stroke survivors, the Chilterns Neuro Centre provides a wide range of services that support their rehabilitation, improving their symptoms and empowering them to live life to the full.
I have experienced several of the services the Chilterns Neuro Centre offers including oxygen therapy and occupational therapy but, for me, the main thing it provides is reassurance. I have been lucky with my MS so far but I know it could get worse and, if it does, I am confident that the Centre will provide the support I need.
As a charity, the Centre relies on the generosity of others in order to provide these services so please do give if you can. Thank you.
