On 28 October 2021, our friend and colleague Andrew “Andy” Jeanes, passed away after being diagnosed with advanced cancer. He had worked for LaSalle for an incredible 38 years and made many friends along the way.

We are holding two charity events in Andy’s memory. The first, for Andy’s friends and colleagues at LaSalle, is a London to Paris bike ride over three days from Thursday 6 to Saturday 8 July 2023. This will be followed by a London Memorial Walk on the afternoon of Thursday 13 July 2023. The walk will also be for Andy’s friends and contacts from the wider real estate industry. To coincide with the London to Paris bike ride, Andy’s daughter, Claire has set herself the task of a ‘Run around Oxford’ on 8 July 2023.

Andy was a giant of a man, both inside and outside of LaSalle. He joined Jones Lang Wootton back in 1984 and amassed an extensive career. Many of his friends will remember him for his humour and loud laugh. He was a person you could trust to provide wise counsel when you got yourself in a hole and didn’t know how to get out. Andy always cared about how you and your family were doing. He was a man who put his family and children front and centre and was extremely proud of their achievements. Outside of work, apart from his family, Andy’s passion was fishing – whether in Iceland for large salmon or at the local river for brown trout. Tales of the large fish that got away seemed to be a constant theme.

Andy is sadly missed by all who knew him. However we hope to recall some of the many fond memories during these two charity events.

Andy’s children, Chris and Claire, have chosen to raise the money for a charity most relevant to them and their family, the Oxford Hospitals Charity, in particular the Oncology Ward Fund at Churchill Hospital which helps with patient/clinical improvements within the Oncology services. This is the dedicated Charity for the Oxford University NHS Foundation Trust and comprises of four hospitals, one of which is the centre of excellence for cancer services.

We hope to raise a small fortune in Andy’s memory, so please donate as much or as little as you possibly can for this wonderful and worthy cause.
