Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Headway Nottingham is in danger of closing down, so I wanted to do what I could to try and help them remain open.
This is a little bit of a personal thing for me, in 1999 I had an accident which resulted in a serious head injury. On my 18th birthday, I went away with friends to Torquay, during this break a freak accident occurred which resulted in me ending up in a coma. I remained in a hospital in Dereford for some time, after having emergency surgery to remove a bleed on the brain, after this I was transferred to Dudley Rd in Birmingham, once i was stable enough, from here I was discharged to a Headway service in Longbridge which supported me and cared for me during my rehabilitation.
That is part of the reason I do what I do as a day job, Empowering U provides support and care to people who have suffered catastrophic injuries, ABI, and head injuries through our case management service and our care delivery.
Empowering U are supporting me to complete the fund raising event.
So I have a special place for Headway as a service and the support that they provided me.
The challenge?
Orange Theory provides 1hour HIIT training sessions throughout the day, each session consists of:
Rowing
Every stroke on the rower activates 85% of your body's muscles. This low-impact workout helps you improve endurance, strength, and power.
Strength Training
Our weight and floor exercises change daily so you can focus on different muscles. Your coach can provide options for any movement if you have injuries or limitations.
Treadmill
Whether you walk, jog, or run, you'll go at your own pace based on your fitness level. We also have bikes and striders available as alternates to the treadmill.
On average each session will use between 600-800 calories, I have done this challenge once before and this is what happened:
8.5 hours total training time
5968 calories
8.5 miles on the bike
14.1 miles on the tread
I will complete all 8 classes in the day starting at 6am and ending at 9pm.
