Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those of you that don't know, my name is Andrew Pass. I’m the third-generation owner and Managing Director of John Pass Jewellers, and this is my lifelong mate Giles, of the legendary Wincle Beer Company. We are two “Over 50’s” who are determined to cycle over 150 km, across North Wales (and its associated hills!) at one of its widest points, in a cycling time of less than 12 hours!
Why, you may be asking? The answer is simple, to raise funds for a charity that Giles and I hold close to our hearts - The Christie Foundation. Without this incredible charity, multiple members of our close family and some friends, Giles, and myself, probably wouldn't be here today thanks to their cutting edge research and unending care for Cancer sufferers. Although that is an attention grabbing truth, it's one that has seen us get off the couch and get on our bikes in training for this charitable effort, and we would be so grateful if you would help too.
If ever there was a time to attempt such a feat, aside of our “advanced years”, that time is now! The company that I have had the pleasure of managing over the past 29 years, turns 75 years old this year, and to celebrate this wonderful achievement, members of the John Pass team have come together to give back 75 Moments of Kindness to the community, climate, and charities alike. So, after being involved with many smaller, yet all the same, gratifying acts of kindness, this is my big one! With a pre training level of fitness that was limited to a daily dog walk with Ruben (our Company dog!), I'm off to conquer my biggest physical challenge yet. To cycle well over 150 kilometres, across Wales from the Western most tip of the Llyn Peninsular to the English - Welsh Border at Chirk, all with one goal in mind, to raise funds for the Christie Foundation, so that more lives can be saved.
Any donation you wish to make, no matter the amount, makes all the difference to this charity and so if you would like to support me in raising funds for The Christie Foundation, please do so. I would be very grateful. We may not have cycled this distance before, but we’ve got unending heart and determination to succeed for The Christie Foundation and like Vince Lombardi once said, “There’s only one way to succeed in anything and that is to give it everything”! Thank you in anticipation of your support.
Very best wishes,
Andrew and Giles.
