Story
My name is Matthew and I am 12 years old.
I have been asked to abseil down the vertical face of Roseberry Topping on Sunday 9th June 2024 to raise money for Marie Curie. I'm not keen on heights, but I am challenging myself to raise as much money as I can for a brilliant charity. Please would you consider sponsoring me, to raise money for Marie Curie, which is helping to support thousands of people across the UK with end of life illnesses.
Roseberry Topping is a distinctive hill near my village of Great Ayton, North Yorkshire. It measures 1,049ft (320m) in height, which means its technically a mountain! Its summit has a distinctive half-cone shape with a jagged cliff - The Yorkshire Matterhorn!
You could give me your pocket money, or you can go to justgiving.com to sponsor me. Anything you can afford to give, would be very much appreciated, and would help me to overcome my dislike of heights!
Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone. And we push for a better end of life for all by campaigning and sharing research to change the system.
Marie Curie is a charity working across the UK and we need your support to do our vital work.
