Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Andrew Gill, 37 from Manchester, I live with ADHD, BPD from the ages of 7 I have struggled with my mental health/state.
From the ages of 7 I was roaming the streets and taking bus rides for miles alone, my mum didn’t let me but I just went alone soon as I got the chance to run away from my parents. Age 11 I left school because it wasn’t for me, me and school didn’t see eye to eye. Moving on I’ve been into custody because I can’t cope with day to day life. I have been in and out of mental hospitals after trying to commit suicide. The doctors just kept giving me different medications and not getting to the root cause.
Moving on till I was around 30/31 my GP sat me down and said please tell me about your life and how it’s gone…… I explained the ins and outs of my life with plenty of tears 😭 he said Andrew…. I feel you should be seen by an ADHD psychiatrist.
I waited 2 years for the first appointment in this time I tried killing myself once again. I never got an appointment via my letterbox I went back to my GP and said if I don’t get to see someone soon my life is going to be over 😭😭 within one week I had my appointment.
at the age of 33/34 I was diagnosed with ADHD and BPD. I am now on medication for this which is Elvance for adults, ever since I was diagnosed my life changed for the better. Yes I am not perfect but it is 100% better than it was prior medication.
That is some of my mental health journey, now let’s get to the challenge I am putting myself up for as I want to give back to the mental health world, there is a massive stigma around mental health when it should be ok to speak out loud!!
My moto is it’s better out than in because you are certainly not alone!!! ❤️❤️
Snowdon/Ben Nevis/Scarfell Pike
On June the 7/8/9 2024 I will be climbing the 3 peaks in 3 days. So on the Friday I will be climbing the first mountain, travelling to the 2nd mountain, pitching up a tent staying there till morning and then climbing the second peak and so on! This will be from a Friday till Sunday.
Thank you for reading and please donate, even if it’s a couple of pounds every penny counts.
I wish you nothing but the best life,
Andrew Gill.
