Story
I'm running my first half marathon, alongside my friend Jimmy, to raise money for CBIT (Child Brain Injury Trust). This is an amazing charity, that works at a local and national level to support children and families impacted by all forms of acquired brain injury. Through my work as a neurosurgery registrar in Nottingham Children's Hospital, I have seen the invaluable work that CBIT do in providing support for children to help them recover, long after their clinical care and often they will be the only people helping families navigate this recovery, arguably when support is needed most.
We know that they make huge differences to children and their families across the country, and we would love to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity. Our target is £500 each and we are pushing ourselves to conquer our first half marathon under 1:45:00 (!)
Every half an hour in the UK, a child or young person will acquire a brain injury. The Child Brain Injury Trust provides information, support and training to anyone affected by this devastating and life changing condition.
