The English Channel swim is often regarded as the aquatic equivalent of climbing Mount Everest, as more individuals have conquered the famous peak than have completed the Channel swim.

Story

**"From Puddle-Jumper to Channel Champion: My Wild Swim for a Cause"**

Why am I swimming across the English Channel, you ask? Well, it's not because I lost a bet or because I'm secretly a merperson (though that would be cool). No, I'm taking the plunge for SwimTayka because everyone deserves the chance to dive into the joys of swimming—without having to worry about pesky things like have they had access to swimming lessons.

Over the last 2+ years wild swimming has been my go-to therapy. It's cheaper than a psychiatrist and you get to wear fun hats! The open water is where I go to float away from life's troubles and where I've learned that 'brain freeze' isn't just from eating an ice cream too fast.

But in all seriousness, the mental health benefits have been a game-changer. The water's chill has shocked some sense into me, and the waves have taught me to go with the flow—literally. It's been a journey from paddling in puddles, to conquering currents, and now I want to share that journey with others.

So, I'm raising money for SwimTayka this summer by taking part in a relay swim across the English Channel this summer (part of a team of 6); learning about the amazing work they do has been very humbling, making me realise how lucky I am to be able to take for granted such a simple thing - being able to swim. This fantastic charity teaches swimming and environmental education to kids who might otherwise never get the chance to tell a jellyfish to buzz off, or be freaked out by seeing an eel in the sea.

Your donation won't just help teach kids to swim; it'll give them the superpower of turning water into happiness. And who knows, maybe one day they'll join me in the quest to make the world a better place one swim stroke at a time

Dive into your pockets, and let's make a wave of difference together!

Please note - Up to £750 of funds I collect will be allocated to cover direct expenses associated with participating in the Channel Swim Relay, including Registration, Boat Rental, Training and Support Services - as such, I will also be personally donating funds in order for my friends, family or unknown supporters, to be confident that as much of their donation will be directly supporting the charity and SwimTayka's Mission.

Thank you all in advance!
