Andrew's fundraiser for Weston Hospicecare

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Seeing first hand the heart warming and dedicated service the team at Weston Hospicecare provided for my late mother-in-law Mary Crouch who sadly lost her fight with cancer in April 2024 makes me want to achieve something I have never done before. I will be taking part in the London Marathon 2025 which will be my first ever marathon. I only started my running journey on New Years Eve 2023 by running one solitary mile and by the middle of March 2024 I was up to half-marathon distance. I can safely say I now have the running bug and I often run over +100 miles per month and entered various 10k races and participated in the weekly park run. I feel I am ready for the big one so please donate what you can as this is an ambitious target!
Receiving an end-of-life diagnosis can be difficult, not just for the patient but also for their loved ones. At Weston Hospicecare, our team of palliative care experts is dedicated to working together to provide specialist support. Our social, emotional, psychological, spiritual and physical care helps guide people through one of the most difficult experiences they will ever face. With only 20% of our funding coming from the NHS, we have to raise £5.5 million each year to fund our care - something that's only made possible by our community.
