Half Marathon for World Down Syndrome Day · 21 March 2025

The 21st of March (the 3rd month of the year) was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome. Every year on March 21st, World Down Syndrome Day is observed to create awareness

Story

In August last year myself and my partner gave birth to a beautiful girl called Rose, who is happy, healthy and happens to have Down Syndrome.

We've found the support, training and guidance offered by Down Syndrome UK and PADS (Positive about Down Syndrome) to be incredibly helpful as we navigated the uncertainty all parents go through, so I'd love to give something back.

World Down Syndrome Day is on the 21st March each year, selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down Syndrome -- every pound raised helps make a positive impact on individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

I'll be running 21km with my unfit dad-bod, so anything you can donate would be hugely appreciated!

Thank you

Andrew & Rose x
