This journey began with an unlikely bond between some Sunday morning London footballers and the fans of Argentina's C A Huracan, which inspired Henry May to start The Huracan Foundation in 2013. Fast forward 10 years of impact for 3,000+ children across 17 countries and 41 projects.

We support teachers using football to impact education and social issues in some of the most challenging communities. 2024 sees 5 new projects funded in Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Uganda and Zimbabwe. We received 93 applications for these 5 opportunities and want to support more.

I got to know Huracan through our son Ben who played for Huracan FC London. Becoming Chair of the foundation 5 years ago has been one of my best experiences. Inspired by our teacher leaders, it's time for me to step up in our fundraiser as I aim to get us nearer our £10K target (currently on £7K). So I will be swimming 7 miles in 7 days this January. All donations are much appreciated.
