Story
This year’s charity swim and cake sale will be raising funds for Trinity Hospice, in special memory of Liam Bruce-Smith.
Liam was diagnosed with cancer two years ago and sadly passed away in March this year, at the age of 33. He spent the latter weeks of his life at Trinity Hospice along with his parents, Kelvin and Maxine. Kelvin has since described the staff at Trinity as having “special DNA” after the exceptional care Liam received, and the hospitality himself and Maxine were shown during a truly difficult time.
So this swim is an opportunity to remember Liam and to raise money for the wonderful people at Trinity Hospice. Liam’s dad, Kelvin, is a member of our local swim group, the Cleveleys Crazies, so he’ll be braving the water too!
The swim will be followed by a cake sale, so if you’re looking for an excuse to bake or eat cake, here it is! There’ll also be a tombola for anybody who’d like to donate or win prizes.
Details of the event as follows:
Date: Sunday 15th October 23
Time: Swim 11:30am followed by cake sale
Location: Marine Hall Gardens shelter in Fleetwood (by the kiosk in the wall)
*Swim at your own risk*
We hope to see you there!
