Story
I’m now 7 months on from my skydiving accident. Safe to say there has been equal amounts of highs and lows (pun intended 😂). One thing has remained the same though…I always knew I’d eventually jump again.
I sat in Preston hospital and knew that even if I never jumped solo again, that I would do a tandem skydive to raise money for the North West Air Ambulance Charity. They receive no government funding and it costs around £1700 to attend an emergency.
With my recovery going so well I have been signed off to do a tandem skydive before the skydiving season ends. Never did I imagine I would be able to do this so soon so I am over the moon.
Without the initial work the North West Air Ambulance Charity did on the airfield that day, my recovery story could have been a whole lot worst. Not only did they do immediate corrective work on the ground, and gave me ALL the drugs, they treated me with such dignity, respect and kindness.
I have been blessed with the best support, medically, physically, mentally and emotionally and it’s time to give back. I am nervous (how could I not be) but I am 100% physically and emotionally ready. From the bottom of my heart thank you everyone for all your kindness and support. You gave me hope when I had none.
