Families with disabled children often struggle to find anyone who can look after their child, due to high levels of support needed that most people aren't trained for or or often feel comfortable to provide and we were not an exception to this.

We became registered with Flexicare in 2013 and they have made a huge difference to our lives. We have had sits for the small things - to attend concerts and appointments at our other sons' schools, to go to out with friends, or to go to our own appointments - and for the big things - to go to weddings, or more recently, funerals. Knowing that Woody will be looked after by someone who knows him well, who is trained to keep him safe and with whom he will have fun makes life so much easier.

Flexicare is a unique charity within the UK, providing a 'sitting service' for families with disabled children... and their siblings. Families can book a sit of up to four hours, at a time of their choosing, up to three times a month.

Like all charities post-Covid, Flexicare is facing huge challenges and now need to raise over £75, 000 a year.

I am hoping to raise £500 by taking on the challenge of walking 150 miles over the course of August. Why not follow my journey and support this brilliant charity?
