Story
Hello Friends, Family and Community!
This year as part of the Recreation and Leisure program, I’m proud to participate in McCormick Care Foundation’s annual Light Up McCormick campaign! I’m joining forces to bring joy to clients, residents, and families living with dementia while raising essential funds to support long-term and dementia care education. But we can’t do it alone—we need your help!
As a student who plans to go into the Recreation services to serve other people; my class and I have learned the value of giving back, which is why we’re aiming to raise $10,000 to light the tallest tree at McCormick. Every donation helps us get closer, but the impact extends far beyond the lights.
Your contribution supports the Learning and Development Centre at McCormick Care Group, home to Ontario’s first Long-Term Care simulation lab, where current and future healthcare professionals are trained to meet the growing demand for dementia and long-term care.
As someone who used to have a grandmother with Dementia, this event and fundraiser are super important because having or knowing someone with Dementia causes a lot of mental stress and we would love it if you could help us help them!
Whether by providing a donation (no donation is too small!), or by helping us spread the word, and/or by coming to our event, we would really appreciate all the help!
By donating, you’re not just lighting a tree—you’re shaping the future of healthcare. Thank you for sparking the spirit of giving!
