The amazing Team Sally Army is taking on the challenge of the London Marathon 2025, raising crucial funds to support The Salvation Army's vital work every step of the way.

Story

In running the London Marathon 2025, I will be raising money for two causes- for Maldon Salvation Army Community Church, and for the Salvation Army's Modern Slavery and Anti-Human Trafficking Services in the UK.

Having been ordained in the summer, I have just arrived as the new Officer of Maldon Salvation Army Community Church, Essex. The corps does great work in the community: from running midweek groups and activities for families and young children; to providing a weekly three course meal for those who would otherwise struggle to feed themselves; to Christian teaching and worship programme to enable anyone and everyone to experience God's love for themselves. I would love to raise money for my new corps to help them run and expand their programme and update their facilities as they do strive to do God's work in the community and spread the good news about Jesus!

The second cause I will be splitting the funds I raise with is the Salvation Army's Anti-Human Trafficking unit. Modern slavery affects millions worldwide, robbing individuals of their freedom and dignity. This year, the Army has made a powerful decision to dedicate funds from the London Marathon to The Salvation Army's modern slavery cause. The Salvation Army provide specialist support for all survivors of modern slavery in England and Wales, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to fundraise for their amazing work with survivors in the UK.

I would be so grateful for any contribution you could make to my fundraising for these two amazing causes. I have never run a marathon before so this will be a real challenge for me, but it will be so worth it to see my donation target reached and so much money raised for the Salvation Army! Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions, words of encouragement or if you'd like to know more :)
