My Journey with Street Child: From Sierra Leone to Everest Base Camp

Hi everyone,

Travel and new challenges have always been a passion of mine. However, after the pandemic, I found myself at my heaviest and hadn’t exercised properly in a long time. Realising the need for change, I set a goal to turn my life around. This led me to an extraordinary experience – running a half marathon in Sierra Leone.

The Sierra Leone Experience

Participating in the half marathon in Sierra Leone was a monumental challenge. It was my first half marathon, and I faced 40-degree heat and intense humidity. But it was here that I witnessed the incredible work Street Child does first-hand. I saw the dedication of the people involved and the profound impact they make on children’s lives. This experience truly inspired me.

Taking on a New Challenge: Everest Base Camp Trek 2024

Motivated by my experience in Sierra Leone, I’ve set my sights on an even bigger challenge – the Everest Base Camp trek. In November 2024, I will embark on this journey to raise funds for Street Child, aiming to reach a target of £1,000. This trek represents not only a personal milestone but also a commitment to supporting Street Child’s mission to ensure all children are safe, in school, and learning.
