TCS London Marathon 2025
Campaign by Cardiac Risk in the Young (RCN 1050845, SC052581)
The London Marathon is London's most popular sporting event with over 40,000 people taking part.

Story

I will be running the 2025 London Marathon in memory of Mia Jennings, who sadly lost her life at only 19 years old after a cardiac event. Her undiagnosed heart condition could have been detected and monitored with early screening.

Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. Since its formation in 1995, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) has been working to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by promoting and developing heart screening programmes and funding medical research. CRY funds specialist referral, screening and cardiac pathology services at leading UK hospitals, where necessary.

This screening costs £65 per person, a cost covered by the charity to ensure it is free to access for 14-35 year olds. Any donation will go to supporting this charity and will save many young lives.
