On Sunday 14th of April 2024, I will be participating in the adidas Manchester Marathon. This will be my first ever marathon, and I am both excited and nervous about the challenge ahead.

I have chosen to fundraise for Cancer Research UK, a cause that is close to my heart. Cancer is a disease that affects each and every one of us in some way or another. Cancer Research aims to make a difference for all those who are currently battling against cancer, those who have survived cancer, and those who we have unfortunately lost to this terrible disease. They also support the families and friends who stand by their side throughout their journey.

In my own family, we have faced our fair share of challenges. In 2019, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a difficult time for all of us, but she fought with incredible strength and determination. I am grateful that she has been in the clear for almost 4 years now.

In 2022, my father was diagnosed with bowel cancer. His fight is ongoing, but his resilience throughout his battle inspires me every day. He never gives up and continues to face each day with unwavering determination.
