Story
On the evening of Tuesday 19th September, I received a call from my sister saying Mum had suffered a stroke. At first I thought it to be another TIA which she had suffered in 2016. However as the evening went on, I soon realised this was not the case. Mum was rushed from Northampton Hospital to Oxford for a Thrombectomy. By lunchtime, Wednesday 20th September I had made my way to Oxford, as soon as I saw Mum I knew it was serious, but never in my life would I expect what happened next. Late afternoon, we were called into the family room to be told nothing could be done.
As the evening progressed, family came to say their goodbyes, it was all just unbelievable, why my mum?! How could we tell her 6 grandchildren, who absolutely adored her.
Our amazing, kind, loving mum passed away with us 3 girls beside her in the early hours of the morning on Thursday 21st September 2023 aged just 66. My heart, world and everything as I knew it was broken beyond repair.
So, why a skydive......
Well it's something I have NEVER wanted to do! But what better way to honour mum and raise money for an amazing cause then step completely out of my comfort zone (and a plane!). Not only that but with my husband being a serving member of the parachute regiment, I get to experience a small part of his world.
Mum would say I'm mad! Losing mum has made me realise LIFE IS FOR LIVING and I intend to try my best every day to make her proud and experience the best out of life.
So please, donate what you can, no matter how big or small, lets help others who can be saved.
Thank you xx
