Story
In June 2023 I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Having discovered a lump in my neck I was shocked with the eventual diagnosis.
Treatment has gone well and I want to raise awareness of thyroid problems to give back for the care I received.
Thyroid problems can lead to fatigue and low energy levels which is something I experienced.
Doing a run gives me something to work towards and get back to where I was, whilst raising funds for the British Thyroid Foundation.
The British Thyroid Foundation support thousands of people across the UK living with thyroid disorders.
They work with medical professionals so their information is reliable and evidence based. They fund vital research into thyroid disease. Their telephone contacts and Facebook groups offer peer support and local groups support you in your local community. They rely on donations and fundraising to continue their work.
