adidas Manchester Marathon 2024 · 14 April 2024 ·

The adidas Manchester Marathon is one of the UK’s premier running events, famous for its fast, flat and friendly route. The 26.2 mile challenge attracts both elite runners, to those who thought completing a marathon would never be possible.

Story

My lovely friend Katie introduced me to this charity in her fundraising endeavors, she has devoted so much personal time and effort to raise money in loving memory of her brother Mike. After finding out the cost of vital screening days I have decided to help as much as possible by running the Manchester Marathon in April 2024.

All money raised will be donated to the Cardiac Risk in the Young - Mike Clarke memorial fund to offer free heartscreenings to anyone aged between 14- 35 years old.

Mike Clarke was a fit and healthy 29 year old who sadly passed away after suffering a heart attack whilst playing football for Whitegate FC.

Cardiac Risk in the Young research shows that every week in the UK at least 12 fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions.

1 in every 300 people have a potentially life threatening cardiaccondition.

80% of young sudden cardiac deaths occur with no prior warnings or symptoms

By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.
