Story
Purple Oak Support is an independent, non-profit, community minded charity supporting and advocating for people of all ages with learning disabilities, their families and carers. The organisation was established in 1964 by a group of parents who thought that the idea of sending their children to residential hospitals was not in the best interests of their children. This group of parents thought their children should live their lives and have the same opportunities as everyone else.
I started working at Purple Oak Support in 2014, supporting some of the most venerable children and Young Adults in our local community, over the last 9 years my life has been changed by the people I have met and supported. In 2024, I am taking my dedication to a whole new level by jumping out of a perfectly serviceable aircraft.
I know times are tough but any donation to help towards my target will make a huge difference and help us to continue supporting the amazing people we work with.
