Story
Hey!
This might seem completely doable, but please take into account my knackered ankle, dodgy knees and general wear and tear due to a misspent youth.
I want to do something to thank all the staff and volunteers at Isabel for the amazing care they gave our dear friend Udesh at the end of his fight with cancer last year. They were amazing. He loved it there - which sounds weird but it’s true. They made an awful time less unbearable. Not just for him, but for us. And we’ll never forget them.
I also want to do something for Udesh. I still can’t believe he’s gone. That I won’t hear his little cockney voice say “Ello babe - ‘ow are you?”. If you didn’t have the privilege of knowing Desh - believe me when I say he was the very best human. The kindest. The funniest. The most loyal. He loved people, and I’m so grateful to be part of his extended family. To paraphrase his best friend, Chris - “we are the lucky ones.” I could write an essay on the guy, but fair to say we miss him.
I have pledged to walk 100 miles in February to raise money for Isabel Hospice. Isabel Hospice nurses walk an average of 8,000 steps a shift and I want to match them!
Please make a donation to enable Isabel Hospice to continue to support others in their time of need. Their services cost £7 million a year to run so lets all give what we can.
Thank you!
