Some of you might know that on September 18th 2023 my (self proclaimed by Iona herself) step niece passed away aged 24.

A few years ago Iona suffered a brain injury and following that it was a difficult and tiring recovery which was hugely supported by Headway Derby.

Headway Derby was founded in 1994 and every year since they have continued to support more brain injury survivors and their families than ever before.

Headway Derby want to purchase Headway Derby’s forever home! They are required to supply 20% of match funding to even stand a chance of funding their own base. Their target of £75,000 is a huge ask, they know that, but like they say – if you don’t ask, you don’t get!

So… In memory of Iona and to support this amazing charity, myself, family members and friends want to raise some money towards this campaign and we will be completing a sponsored walk from Iona’s tree to Brailsford. Any donation big or small will be so so so so appreciated.

This time next year, Headway Derby have the vision to be in Headway Derby’s forever home, and to be able to say to their members ‘We did it! Welcome to your forever safe space’. This is just a little thing to help this vision.
