Story
On 21 April 2024 I will run the London Marathon for Peter White and all those I know who suffer or have suffered with cancer in their life (some being my mum, nan and great nan). My heart goes out to all those who have/will have suffered from this terrible disease as well as those family and friends supporting.
Sadly, on 13 October 2022 we lost Peter White to Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He had a very rare type of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer which unfortunately ended up taking his life after a hard-fought battle. Pete was a loving dad, husband, and friend to many. He was adored by all that knew him throughout his life and made so many people laugh.
Pete was not only a dad and husband, but he was the greatest best friend my dad could have ever asked for. They were inseparable most days, getting up to mischief and having far too many beers together. Pete had been in my life for as long as I can remember and life will not be the same for any of us without him, he is missed dearly.
Lymphoma Action works hard to help thousands of people affected by this form of cancer, like Pete. Pete’s rare case has been looked at by medical professionals and with your help by donating to the charity they can continue to support those diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer. They work hard to ensure people are educated, feel supported, empower those and be a voice for those affected and make sure no one faces Lymphoma alone.
I am exstremely excited as well as being very nervous about my marathon journey. During lockdown I went from rugby player to regularly running 5Ks and most recently completed my first half marathon. This will be my biggest challenge to date, committing to an 18-week training programme.
Pete we all miss you very much, life is not and will not be the same without you.
I would be very grateful for any donations towards this cause as I do my best to run the London Marathon. Donations to be made via my JustGiving page.
A massive thank you to all those that donate and support me along this journey. I am forever grateful.
