Story

Support Teesside Mind's Skydive Challenge – Saturday, 22nd March 2025!

As someone who works for Teesside Mind in their new 'BeHeard' service; which seeks to give children between 11-16 a safe space to be themselves and find help for their mental health concerns, I will be taking part in the big Teesside Mind Skydive Challenge, in order to raise money so that the charity can continue to do the incredible work that they do. My service exists through the kind donations from the likes of you!

As someone who not only lost a peer to suicide at 14, but has seen up close the devastating consequences of adverse mental health, charities like Mind give many the chance to seek help and better mental health.

I have the absolute privilege of working for such a dedicated, and person-centred charity, and without donations we are not able to keep supporting the people of Teesside.

Middlesbrough alone has a suicide rate 70% higher than the national average, and charities like Mind are committed to reducing this number through their extensive mental health support.

Every amount donated goes towards giving the people of Teesside the means to better their mental health and have hope for their futures, and children the resources to curb and manage emerging mental health disorders.

This skydive is not only a chance for me to do something new and exciting (and absolutely terrifying!) but a chance to do it for a wonderful cause. Be a part of helping people access the support that they need. Donate today!

Teesside Mind's statement:

--- Since 1995, Teesside Mind has been dedicated to supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of our local community. Each year, we assist nearly 20,000 individuals across Teesside, providing vital services and support.

In Teesside, the need for mental health support is particularly pressing, with many individuals facing significant challenges and we couldn't continue our vital work without the incredible efforts of our fundraisers and the generosity of donors like you.

This challenge is not for the faint-hearted! Our fearless fundraisers will be leaping from 15,000ft at speeds of up to 120mph on Saturday, 22nd March 2025. After a weather delay, the skydive is now back on, and they’re ready to take the plunge!

Please support their courageous efforts and help us continue the fight for better mental health in Teesside! ---
