Story

On April 27th, I will be taking on the London Marathon.

Having won a ballot place, I decided that I would work alongside The UK Sepsis Trust to try and raise some money and most importantly awareness for this vicious condition that takes so many innocent lives every year, including that of my Dad, Paul Richards, just over 2 years ago.

To date, I have completed nearly 650 kilometres of a 900 kilometre training plan, over the space of 19 weeks.

This weekend I will be taking on the Bath Half Marathon and then only 6 weeks to go!

Every little counts to help this wonderful charity on their way to help prevent the loss of so many special lives and support families who have lost a loved one.

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
