Story
I am so proud to be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 6th April 2025 on behalf of the UK Sepsis Trust.
My auntie Mandy had Urosepsis in 2019, she luckily survived, but due to the symptoms of Urosepsis being caught too late, she had both arms amputated from below the elbow, and both legs amputated from the knee down. Mandy has since made such an amazing recovery, and is the most inspiring woman anyone could ever meet. Mandy is always on the go doing something crazy, from indoor skydiving, to kayaking on lakes to zip lining off of mountains and rock climbing. She also walked down the aisle to marry my uncle Steve in August 2024.
UK Sepsis Trust, raises awareness publicly and within the health care sector. They also provide support to survivors, aiding their recovery and family's during bereavement. Each year, on average, 48,000 people die from sepsis, which is more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Please visit www.sepsistrust.org for more information, and please familiarise yourself with the common symptoms of Sepsis.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you are able to support my marathon journey by donating to such an important charity.
Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis. With your support, we can make a difference!
