If you know me, you probably know about my mum. Probably being because I just don't shutup about her, she was too great a woman to not!

Our mum died over 7 years ago to a very sudden heart attack. As you can imagine and some know, it completely rocked all our worlds. The world is all that bit duller without her. There's never a right age to have a parent die, but we were robbed of so many more years with our mum. Forever would never have been enough.

Since she died, my brother Kyle and I have tried to follow in her charitable steps and pay it forward at least once a year through some form of charity fundraising event. My brother and co don the London to Brighton bike ride every year and I've slipped on my side, I must say.

I don't do things in halves so I'm taking the plunge and running in the 2024 London Marathon! Bonkers, I know. I loved running when I was a kid and well into my teens, it was something my mum encouraged and supported me in. So it only feels right to dust off my running shoes and take on this challenge in her memory!

The British Heart Foundation is a charity close to all of our hearts and do tremendous work in fighting heart disease across the country. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.

It's all for your mum, it always has been. A heart so big, it had to break.
