Amber's fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Foundation UK

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
A few of you know, I'm running the London Marathon this year. This marathon comes with an extra challenge, as 10 years ago I was in an accident where I nearly lost my right leg. After a year of physio, I was able to learn to walk again and get back to a more normal life. My accident inspired me to want to become a nurse, and it’s just a few months now until I'm finally qualified! During my time as a student nurse, I have worked alongside children in critical conditions, and this work has motivated me to take on this challenge to provide those with the best lasting memories through the Make-A-Wish charity.
Right now over 63,000 children in the UK are eligible for a wish because they are dealing with the daily reality of living with a critical illness. When it comes to their dreams, they deserve to wish for more than a life defined by their illness. Make-A-Wish UK is part of a global movement that grants life-changing wishes, rescuing the magic of childhood even in their toughest times and providing a lifeline for families to spend precious time together. Each ‘wish’ costs on average £2500 so this is the amount that I’m looking to raise!
I would be so grateful for any support and donations to my page as I take on the 2025 TCS London Marathon! Thank you all xx
