Story
A baby is born with a serious heart condition every two hours in the UK and despite congenital heart disease being one of the biggest killers of infants, only around half of congenital heart defects are picked up during routine prenatal scanning.
I'm supporting Tiny Tickers during Heart Week 2024 to help provide a safety net for the 1,000 babies each year that leave hospital with their heart defect undetected, improving a baby's chances of survival and long-term quality of life.
Please consider donating or sharing my fundraising page to help this brilliant charity and heart babies everywhere.
My 4 month old son, Coby, was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (this means the left side of his heart failed to develop). We found out at the 20 week scan and the information pack and support from Tiny Tickers was vital to us making an informed decision as to how we proceed with our CHD journey.
Coby had open heart surgery at a week old, a scary time for all his family. Thankfully after 6 weeks in hospital at Leicester Royal Infirmary, Coby was discharged home.
Our journey is no where near over, and knowing that we have support from Tiny Tickers helps my family and I continue heading towards Coby's next surgery.
