Event: Swans Big Sleepout, on 17 November 2023
Matthew’s House and Swansea City AFC Foundation are hosting a Swans Big Sleep Out on Friday 17th November 2023 to raise awareness of homelessness (and some of its causes), isolation, and deprivation, issues facing so many in our community in Swansea.

Story

Swans Big Sleep Out aims to raise awareness of homelessness and some of its causes.

Paul France, Head of Swans Foundation, said that the funds raised will "help make a positive change in how we support homeless people in Swansea, and will support the Foundation’s new programme working with people and families affected by addiction."

I have been volunteering at Matthew’s House for just over 3 and a half years, since the start of the pandemic and have witnessed first hand the negative impact homelessness and isolation has had on the lives of many of our guests. Lots of them consider Matthew's House as a place of safety and refuge, where they can feel at home and cared for. Whilst we particularly seek to serve the homeless & most vulnerable in the City, we aim to offer hospitality and hope to everyone, regardless of their background, beliefs or circumstances. Those that know me well, know just how much I LOVE my sleep. But I feel strongly about this cause and the great work that Matthew's House and similar organisation do and ultimately 1 night of uncomfortable, cold, broken sleep is nothing compared to what many of our guests endure on a daily basis.

So please support me to help raise awareness and money for this crucial event. Diolch! ('Thank You') Xxx
