Rob Roy Mighty Hike 2024

Rob Roy Mighty Hike 2024 - full marathon · 31 August 2024 ·
In August 2024, we are taking on a Mighty Hike Full Marathon along the Rob Roy Way to raise vital funds for people living with cancer. Most people know we lost our Dad to cancer in 2015, but it all happened so quickly that we weren’t able to use amazing support such as Macmillan. However, Macmillan is there for so many other people, helping them all through the toughest times. This includes my (Gem’s) lovely friend Bex, who sadly passed away in March this year. Gemma met Bex in 2008 whilst trekking around America on our travels. Such a shining light of a person, funny, positive, caring and a huge inspiration. She fought to raise as much awareness around bowel cancer and treatment as she could with open, honest messages and videos. Macmillan offered Bex and her family huge support through these times and we are forever grateful.
Bex, my darling friend, forever 40. I am doing this hike in your memory to raise as many pennies as I can for Macmillan. Think I am going to have sore feet!
We have pledged to raise £250 each and would appreciate any support in reaching this… or smashing it. By fundraising £250, I could pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for two days who could provide emotional, practical and financial advice to someone affected by cancer.
