Story
Climbing Kilimanjaro has been one of my ambitions for a number of years. Recently I thought I must do it before I am 70 years old and undertaking this in July 2023 means I will complete it with a fortnight to spare. The added bonus of this trip is that my son is doing it with me.I then thought that this journey is not to be wasted and that a worthy charity must benefit. There are many worthy charities but what could be a better charity than Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith one which provides support and care for babies, children and young people with life threatening and often terminal conditions and also provide in the form counselling and bereavement support to their families.
Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices support more than 750 local families who are either caring for a terminally ill child, or whose child has died.It costs £7.5 million every year to run their services. Approximately two month’s income comes from statutory sources and for the other 10 months of the year we are dependent on public support.Tŷ Gobaith ambition is to raise an additional £2.5 million each year to make sure we reach every child, mum, dad, brother and sister who needs our help in this area.Hope House Children’s Hospices is a centre of excellence for children’s palliative care ensuring every family facing the death of a child gets the very best care and support when and where they need it.Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
