Story
Anyone that knows me, knows I’m terrible at football, so you can imagine my face when I was asked to travel to Lesotho (Southern Africa) to play in March 2024! However with a cause as incredible as Kick4Life, I couldn’t wait to accept and help in any way I could!
Kick4Life is a charity that provides vulnerable children and young people of Lesotho with intensive academic support, football coaching and character development, with the aim of supporting them to student-athlete scholarships at international universities.
Lesotho is one of the poorest countries in the world financially with an HIV prevalence of over 23%. However Lesotho has an abundance of culture and positive minded people, despite their economic stand point. Kick4Life, as a charity and social enterprise sets out to change the lives and long-term prospects of vulnerable young people in Lesotho, through a wide range of social development activities focused on health, education and support towards sustainable livelihoods.
Very good friends of mine have personally been involved in this project and this will be their second tour, so I’m excited to see the progress they have made since their last visit. So far they have reached more than 250,000+ children & young people in Lesotho through these sports-based interventions and we're trying to play our part in making that number grow!
I will be making my own contributions to help reach and surpass the goal but would love your support too, no matter how small or large, all support is hugely appreciated!
I will be hosting a number of different initiatives prior to flying out to help with the fund raising so keep an eye out for updates and join me for any that appeal.
Thank you for your support. Wish us luck!
